Heartfelt Creations Relaxin' Monkeys Card

Welcome to our new Heartfelt Creations Release for March!
Let that wild, jungle spirit out and let's have some fun with the new Monkeying Around Collection!

I want to add fun texture to the little monkeys and to add a whimsical "bokeh" background!     Hope you enjoy!

Relaxin' Monkeys Cling Stamp Set, HCPC-3780
5 Piece Acrylic Block Set, SUAH05
Stamp Mat Pad, SMPOO1
Scor-Pal Measuring and Scoring Board, 173842
Card Stock - White, HCPP2-451
Sizzix Vagabond 2, 532423

Blue Card Stock, X-Press It Blending Card Stock, Copic Alcohol Ink Markers, large Q-Tips, 70% Rubbing Alcohol, Copic Colorless blender, sponge dauber, masking tape, wooden board, double sided tape, Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Cut heavy white card stock at 5 1/2 inches x 11 inches and score at 5 1/2 inches to create a top fold card. Cut blue card stock at 5 1/4 inches x 5 1/4 inches.   Cut X-Press It Blending Card Stock or any Copic compatible card stock at 51/2 x 5 1/2 inches.  This will be trimmed later to 5  x 5 inches.

Stamp the monkey image on X-Press It  paper using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  The stamp is large so I used the largest acrylic block.    Apply tape around the edges on a solid board to prevent the paper from warping.   Bokeh  technique will work best if you create the background prior to coloring the focal image. Roughly color areas of the background with Copic B21, B91, B45, YG63, RV63.   Get good coverage but it does not need to be smooth.   Take a large Q-Tip and dip in 70% alcohol and place on paper for 3 seconds and lift.  Repeat process and allow enough room so the circles to not run into each other.   When dry, repeat the process in sporadic areas allowing the circles to overlap.   This will be repeated in a few areas so some of the bokeh appear to be in the foreground and others in the background.   Allow to dry.   Be careful to not allow the alcohol circles to run into your focal image.    Start the process in the outer edges so you can get the feel of how much the alcohol spreads at 3 second.   Touch up the areas around the image with B21 and B91.    Allow the background to dry.  Remove the masking tape and trim at 5 x 5 inches.   Sponge Tumbled Glass Distress Ink on the edges.

Place a clean sheet of paper under your image and color your focal image. The Monkey was colored with Copic E40, E41, E44, E47, E49 and Colorless Blender for texture.  The leaves and fern were colored with Copic G28, G40, YG61, YG63.

Adhere the layers.  This is a fun and easy card that can be mailed without requiring extra postage.

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
